Happiest of Halloweens, friends! Hope you enjoy this pic of my fam circa 2021. If you’re a Hotel Transylvania fan, you’ll recognize Mavis, Drac, and Frank.
October has been a crazy month globally and individually. I hope everyone is taking care of themselves and each other amidst the turmoil.
You may or may not have noticed that I didn’t send out a space weather forecast at the beginning of this month. I’m constantly evaluating all of the things I do in terms of both their value to my audience and myself; I’m also trying to be more focused on my Work in this world and getting clearer and clearer about what that is. While I love astrology and got so much great feedback from you all on the forecast, I also know that there are many people out there doing that work so much better than I can. So I’m setting it down for now.
If nothing else, it was validating for me to talk publically about how I see and use astrology in my work and life, a coming out of the closet of sorts. I hope it also added value for you. If you want to continue to consider the space weather on a regular basis, I recommend Chris Brennan’s The Astrology Podcast, anything and everything by Chani Nicholas, and Ivy Bromius’ Next Week in Magic.
What I’m Reading
Books
Carol Sandford has been an incredible mentor and influence on me over the last few years. I just finished reading her most recent book, No More Gold Stars. In the work I’ve done with Carol, she is constantly pushing me to think better, design with intention, and approach all aspects of work and life with consciousness. This book asks that of all of us.
Having read all of Carol’s books, I think this one best represents her foundational premises and frameworks. It pushes us to think and design with effects in mind and approach our work from a place of systemic change. At this point in human development, the stakes could not be higher for all of us to step up our collective ways of thinking. Of all of the books I’ve read this year, this is the one I am buying everyone for Christmas.
