It is fall. I needed fall to come more than I knew.
That’s all I’ve got this week.
Here’s your roundup for September.
What I’m Reading
Books
I’m working my way through Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche at the moment. It is dense and brilliant and sometimes over my head and sometimes way off base. I struggle through it every time I pick it up and yet still pick it up the next time to struggle again. I end up reading most pages twice. It is a rejection of traditional Western thought that has a lot of implications for our world today.
Other stuff
I’ve recently had the pleasure of meeting some other writers in the creative/freelance space. You’ll likely see some of them pop up here as guest authors.
Anna Burgess Yang - Her Substack, Remote Musings
Taylor Foreman - His Substack, The Creativity Gap
Corey Fradin - His website and newsletter, Quickboost
Laura Burford - Her Medium site
Resources
There is still space available for the FREE workshop I’ll be doing for Freelancers Union next month: Goal Setting for Solopreneurs Who Hustle Smarter, Not Harder.
This series of three workshops will guide solopreneurs through the process of creating flexible goals that actually drive outcomes not just for their work, but specifically so that their work is helping them achieve the life they want.
This process is about goals that drive the journey, not just focus on the destination. We're not talking about those BS goal-setting strategies from your old HR department, where you set meaningless targets that sit on a shelf...This is goal-setting for people who hustle and have no time for big dreams that never actually come to fruition.
Workshop 1 (October 12): Get super clear on what solopreneurship needs to give you
Workshop 2 (October 19): Create goals that actually mean something
Workshop 3 (October 26): Make a plan to achieve your goals and create a flexible system for revisiting goals and adjusting course as things change
These always sell out fast, so secure your spot now.

Great article!! Just became a subscriber. :) I am also a friend of Anna, I think this is how I found your writing. I love the astrological calendar. I am an astrologer as well (side hustle) and have been for 30+ years. This Mercury retrograde kicked my butt a bit, but I'm more worried about the Mars retrograde coming up. I hate Mars retrogrades. LOL
